Agoura High School Cross Country

about us

The Agoura High School Cross Country teams are led by Coach Colin Pratt (Boys XC) and Coach Joseph Byrd (Girls XC).  Both teams follow a holistic approach of coaching which focuses on the mental well being and physical health of each athlete to drive personal success. Good nutrition and adequate rest is stressed to the athletes.

The Agoura High School Cross Country teams compete within the Marmonte League. Numerous student athletes that have gone through the program have continued to compete at the collegiate level.

Practices & Meets

All cross country teams practice 5-6 days per week in the Summer, Fall, and Winter months at AHS and local trails.

During the week, practices will take place after school and will generally last 2 hours.

Athletes may run 3-10 miles per practice and/or incorporate some level of strength training.

Athletes are expected to come dressed in workout clothes and have sufficient water.

Meets may take place during the week or on weekends. Meets that take place during the week will require the athletes to communicate to their teachers that class will be missed.

Uniforms & Gear

Uniforms will be provided by the coaches. Athletes should consider purchasing sturdy running shoes to support trail and road terrain. Please contact the coaches if you have specific questions about appropriate gear.

Fan gear such as Agoura sweatshirts and t-shirts may also be purchased directly from the team store. The team store is only open for a limited time each season, so be sure to order yours quickly.

Donations

We ask our families to donate $350 for the season, however any amount is appreciated. Donations contribute towards race entry fees, transportation, food, supplies, equipment, and coaches stipends. Providing transportation to our meets is our largest expense.  Parent volunteer drivers may also be requested.

All donations are tax deductible (TIN 95-2222290)
