Chargers’s Strong Offense Not Enough to Secure Win Against Calabasas JV

Bats were blistered on Monday, but Chargers couldn’t quite get the job done against Calabasas JV and lost 10-7.

Calabasas JV captured the lead in the second inning.

Calabasas JV evened things up at seven in the bottom of the third inning when #3 grounded out, scoring one run.

Calabasas JV took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth #6 singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and Nathan Conmy induced #7 to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored.

Chargers tallied six runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to an error on a ball put in play by Cory Baer and a double by Carter Roberts.

#9 got the start for Calabasas JV. The ace surrendered seven runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out four.

Thomas Novak led things off on the hill for Chargers. The southpaw allowed one hit and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Conmy threw three and a third innings in relief.

Baer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Chargers in hits.
